How Much Does a Website Cost in Morocco?

A straight answer on website pricing in Morocco — what drives the number up, what you can safely cut, and the hidden costs nobody quotes you upfront.

Every quote you receive will be different, and most of them will not explain why. Here is the honest breakdown.

The three tiers you will actually be quoted

Template assembly — 3,000 to 12,000 MAD. Someone installs a WordPress or Wix theme, swaps your logo in, and hands it over. This is a real option, and for a business that needs a presence rather than a channel, it can be the correct one. What you are buying is a placeholder. It will not be fast, it will not rank, and it will look like the other four hundred sites built from the same theme.

Custom build — 25,000 to 90,000 MAD. Design made for your business, built as code rather than assembled from plugins. This is where performance, search visibility and conversion become achievable rather than accidental.

Product work — 120,000 MAD and up. Web applications, marketplaces, booking systems, anything with accounts and business logic. Priced by complexity, not by page count.

What actually moves the number

Page count is the metric everyone asks about and it is close to irrelevant. Ten pages sharing one layout cost barely more than five. What moves the price:

  • Distinct layouts. Every genuinely different page design is design time plus build time plus responsive work plus testing.
  • Content. If you do not have copy and photography ready, someone has to produce them. This is routinely a third of the real cost and it is almost never in the quote.
  • Integrations. Payment gateways (CMI, PayZone, Stripe), delivery providers, ERPs, CRMs. Each one is an external system with its own failure modes.
  • Languages. French plus Arabic is not "the same site twice." Arabic means right-to-left layout, which touches every component you have built.
  • Who maintains it. A site you can update yourself needs a content management layer. That is real work, and it pays for itself within months.

The costs that appear after launch

Budget for these from the start, because they arrive whether you planned for them or not:

  • Hosting and CDN: 500 to 3,000 MAD per year for a marketing site
  • Domain: 100 to 300 MAD per year
  • SSL: free via Let's Encrypt, and you should never pay for it on a standard site
  • Maintenance and security updates: 10 to 20% of build cost annually
  • Content and iteration: the line item that determines whether the site earns anything

How to compare quotes honestly

Ask every agency the same four questions:

  1. Who owns the code and the domain when we are finished? If the answer is anything other than "you do," walk away.
  2. What Lighthouse performance score will you deliver on mobile? A number in the contract beats an adjective in the pitch.
  3. What is included after launch, and for how long?
  4. What do you need from me, and by when? An agency that cannot answer this has not planned the project.

The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest project. The expensive part of a bad website is the year you spend with it before admitting it needs replacing.
